This is the first time I stayed at an Intercity Hotel. Given that I see these hotels very close to train stations in Germany, I always thought it had some connection with the German ICE trains. Hence I didn't expect much. But somehow these hotels are fancy! I especially liked the design choices. The bathroom was sleek. It made good use of space, like using the empty space beneath the sink as a receptacle for hand tissues. I also liked the gravity-driven sliding door, which eventually closes when you leave them half open. Or the design of the toilet paper holder, as if it's built in the wall and it's a trick to put a new roll of toilet paper on it. The breakfast selection was legit, and had something for everyone. And yes, it's clean, the staff was professional, the interior design was modern and swanky, and it is very close to the train station.

The hotel is relatively NEW and benefits from the latest developments in hotel design and practice (there is a robot assistant to help staff who clear the tables, saving them the journey into the area where used crockery and cutlery is cleaned!). Situated alongside the hauptbahnhof, the distance to the hotel is level and doesn't warrant a taxi ride unless travellers have particularly heavy suitcases with them. Staff were helpful, efficient and unobtrusive. I stay in Intercity hotels when I am travelling in Germany provided the cost is not excessive; this ranks as one of the best and is highly recommended.

Excellent location. Literally next to the main train station and a lot of trams. My room was very quiet. I am light sleeper and I was a bit worried that being so close to the train station it would be noisy but that wasn't the case. Even though my room was facing the tracks I couldn't hear anything. Very good soundproofing. The room was nice and clean, the beds were comfortable. The staff was nice and friendly.

I haven’t had big expectations from a chain Hotel, but overall experience was great. Room is comfortable and nicely made. Comfortable bed, great shower and small details that make the stay great. We travelled with 1,5 year old and she got her baby bed with cute sheets, pillow and blanket which she loved. Hotel also accepted our dog. All in all great experience. Employees were great and very friendly.
